The South East Careers and Try a Trade Expo is the largest expo outside of the CBD, with over 120 exhibitors and 4,000 students expected to attend in 2023.
Starting in 2009, the event was held at the Berwick Show Ground with just 250 students in attendance. In the time since these small beginnings more than 31,000 people have walked through the doors.
This major event brings together universities, TAFEs, RTOs, community service organisations and industry to speak with local secondary school students about post school education and employment opportunities.
The event is set up to give students the best possible experience and exhibitors are encouraged to offer a hands-on experience or demonstration.
Students can engage in hands-on activities, with an extensive range of exhibitors in attendance, students can learn about occupations they may never have considered.
Competitions, giveaways and a variety of food trucks add an extra level of enjoyment.
The cost for an exhibit site is $185 (powered) and $165 (unpowered). Each is 3m x 3m, however the Pavilion is huge and there is plenty of space to spread out. Included in the price is a trestle table and 2 chairs. If you choose a powered site, bring your own power lead.
The expo will be held on Tuesday 9 May at KCC Park in Skye.
