Business Events

MPS Business Events works proactively to attract larger groups, conferences and professional events to our region helping to provide income and job security during low and shoulder seasons.

Your business can not only leverage from our marketing and promotional efforts but also participate in targeted programs designed to help you navigate your way through this industry sector.

We have a dedicated business events team to facilitate our program and help local businesses deliver quality events.

Our Business Events team can help you promote your business to visitors and locals alike – and it’s free!

We work with businesses of all sizes and types across the Mornington Peninsula who want to be active in this lucrative niche segment.

Every year, the Shire is contacted by people wanting assistance to plan an event in our region.

This is called a Request For Proposal (RFP).

Events can be for groups as small as ten people or as large as 300 (sometimes even more!).

We help them by being their one-stop event planning shop. On their behalf we go out to suitable businesses to collate pricing, availability and options. We pull together itinerary ideas and short list all the options in a Proposal.

Our team can inform, connect, support, and up-skill your business to deliver quality business events.

We connect your business to event planners so you can convert these skills to real business.

MPS Business Events can help you put your best foot forward.

We have the ‘know how’ to connect your business to event planners that want to fill your rooms and enjoy your experiences.

Did you know?
On average a business delegate spends $387 per night, compared to a leisure tourist spending $155 per night (TRA State of the Industry 2018-19).

That’s exactly why we are keen to grow the business events market on the Mornington Peninsula!

Business events increase yield and length of stay because:

  • Events are usually held mid-week and in non-peak times – reducing pressure on peak leisure tourism visitation periods, and filling gaps in capacity.
  • They provide the stability the region needs for businesses to retain good staff and prosper all year round.
  • They yield high revenue returns. On average a leisure tourist spends $155 per night compared to a business delegate spending $387 per night (*TRA State of the Industry 2018-19).

Nothing, it’s free.

Any local business is welcome to be a part of MPS Business Events.

Our program is open to every local business, regardless of industry affiliation or membership status.

Allowing everyone to bid will give our clients more choices, making our region an attractive place to host business events.

These types of events give our region the stability it needs to retain good staff and to prosper year-round.
