A holistic experience that ignites all the senses

The Mornington Peninsula Business Excellence Awards recognise innovation, sustainability and excellence across businesses of all types. They are a chance to showcase the outstanding work of local businesses.

Here, we celebrate the winner of the Hospitality category, Red Gum BBQ

Red Gum BBQ is an Aussie-smoked, American-style BBQ restaurant.  It focusses on slow cooked, authentic Southern American BBQ cuisine with a distinctly Australian difference. The meats are organic, ethically sourced and traditionally smoked for 12-16 hours using red gum in the giant Texas offset steel pits.

This category is awarded to a business which consistently delivers high quality food and/or beverage experiences and excellent customer service to the public. The judges chose Red Gum BBQ for the overall excellence demonstrated in every aspect of their business, from planning to their food offering and staff training staff, From innovation in developing new products such as rubs and sauces, to their unquestionable commitment to sustainability.

At Red Gum BBQ, we offer more than just unique and authentic food, but a holistic experience that ignites all the senses and has a familiarity of traditional southern hospitality.  Red Gum BBQ differentiates itself within the ethical business and dining space.

As Australia’s first (and currently only) B Corp certified restaurant, Red Gum BBQ is committed to exclusively using free-range grass-fed meats, being plastic free and using recyclable materials. Red Gum BBQ is extremely proud of its ethical accreditation, which influences decisions made throughout the company.
