Help shape the future of employment: join a job quality focus group

Are you a business leader looking to improve recruitment, retention, and workplace wellbeing? The Australian Catholic University, in partnership with the University of Sydney, invites employers to participate in a unique opportunity to shape the future of employment in Australia.

As part of the federally funded ARC Linkage Project Creating Sustainable Employment Pathways, researchers are conducting Job Quality Focus Groups in November 2025. These online lunchtime sessions will test the newly developed Job Quality Toolkit and Minimum Job Quality Standards for Australia.

If your organisation is:

• Facing challenges in hiring and retaining staff
• Seeking to attract a more diverse workforce (including youth, First Nations, people with disabilities, mature age workers, and culturally diverse talent)
• Interested in creating ‘good jobs’ that improve employee wellbeing and organisational outcomes

Then this is a valuable opportunity to contribute to national research and gain early access to practical tools that can help.

By joining a focus group, you’ll:

• Be among the first to access the Job Quality Toolkit and Minimum Standards
• Receive a review of job quality research
• Gain additional resources from project partners and the Advisory Board
• Learn how ‘good jobs’ can reduce turnover, improve productivity, and enhance innovation
• Network and share insights with other forward-thinking employers

Led by Professors Angela Knox, Jo Ingold, and Dr Qian Yi Lee, this three-year project is funded by the Australian Research Council and supported by industry partners including The Fair Co., Asuria, Social Ventures Australia, and the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions. Advisory Board members include SEEK, Disability Employment Australia, and the Institute of Employability Professionals.
