‘Growing around grief’ is a comprehensive postvention toolkit developed by the South East Melbourne Primary Health Network as a direct result of insights from the Victorian Government-funded Suicide Prevention Place-Based trials.
Through this research, The South East Melbourne Primary Health Network SEMPHN identified resource gaps to provide support for people in south east Melbourne affected by suicide and sudden loss.
It addresses the complex needs of specific groups, providing practical tools and support to minimise the long-term social, emotional, and financial impact after suicide or sudden loss.
In collaboration with local partners and lived experience experts including Jesuit Social Services (JSS), Youth Support and Advocacy Service (YSAS) and Su-Rose McIntyre; this toolkit comprises a main booklet, plus four supplementary booklets where each book can be used independently, to address the needs of specific groups.
This ground-breaking kit will be an invaluable resource for business owners, professionals and the community alike to provide information and practical tools to minimise the impact after suicide.
WorkSafe’s new campaign aims to increase awareness of the challenges young workers face and highlight employers’ responsibilities to ensure their safety.
