Free training for job-ready hospitality staff this summer
29 July 2026
Hospitality employers on the Mornington Peninsula can now access free, pre-screened staff ahead of the summer rush through the Launch Into Work Hospitality Project, delivered by Apprenticeship Careers Australia in partnership with Chisholm Institute.
Participants complete a three-week training program covering food safety, responsible service of alcohol, coffee skills and customer service, then spend two days in your workplace at no cost, so they arrive ready to contribute. Most participants also qualify for a wage subsidy.
What’s involved for employers:
Talk to David Le Plastrie from Launch into Work about the roles you need filled
Meet shortlisted candidates and choose who fits your team
Host successful candidates for two workplace days at no cost
Offer a minimum of 20 hours per week to candidates you take on after training
Training starts in October, in time for businesses to be fully staffed for summer. A previous Peninsula program placed staff in cafes, restaurants, golf clubs and resorts across Rosebud, Balnarring and Frankston.
