How to Thrive in Challenging Times

The retail industry is in a tough space.

Consumer spending is down, labour rates and costs are up and the peaks aren’t compensating for the quiet periods.

It’s no surprise that many are closing or selling.

But some are not.

How are they managing that?  Is there a secret to success? What are they doing differently?

This session will explain how to analyse your business and identify where things may be going wrong using small retail industry examples and case studies.

We will also discuss tactics to improve operational efficiency and profitability. We will discuss real examples based on actual businesses and encourage you to ask questions.

Key takeaways:

  • How to set up budgets and performance metrics
  • How to identify and anticipate problems
  • Potential solutions – Tactics, Techniques and Technology

Your host, Jeremy, runs a small business advice practice based in Mt Martha and also owns and operates Artisan’s Alley in Mornington.

This session shares personal experience not management theory.
