Composting Field Day

We are inviting farmers, market gardeners and viticulturalists to join us for an interactive field discussion on composting. For this event we are joining forces with the EcoVineyards project team; agroecologist/viticulturist Dr Mary Retallack, Retallack Viticulture and Karen Thomas, Melbourne Water plus special guest presenter Declan McDonald, ReGen Soils to discuss composting and soil health indicators.

We will be getting our hands dirty to discuss the following topics

Compost and/or compost tea production and application
Soil health indicators (how to measure)

– Earthworms
– Soil micro- and macro -organisms
– Soil penetration resistance
– Water infiltration rate
