2023 Mornington Peninsula Shire Grants

Council’s Community Investment Funding helps community organisations, businesses, individuals and sole traders connect with and apply for grants and funding. The following grants are open to eligible businesses.

Business Development Grant

Purpose: To enable business growth and improvements

Open: 13 July 2023 to 7 September 2023

Value: Eligible businesses may seek up to $5,000

Eligibility: Only businesses with the equivalent of 10 full time staff or less are eligible to apply (includes sole traders and home businesses)

Climate Action Grant

Purpose: Deliver carbon emissions reduction partnerships to achieve the Climate Emergency Plan’s goal of net zero emissions by 2040

Open: 13 July 2023 to 7 September 2023

Value: Eligible applicants may seek up to: Minor Grant: Up to $ 5,000, Major Grant: $5000 up to $10,000

Eligibility: Climate Action Grants are open to businesses with up to 20 full time equivalent (FTE) staff or less to be eligible

Destination Events Grant

Purpose: To support major economic, cultural and social impact through large scale events

Open: 13 July to 7 September 2023

Value: Eligible applicants may seek up to $25,000

Please note that the event infrastructure subsidy previously available under the Community Event Fund (Triennial) will not be offered under this grant program. Events that are requiring marquees or access to the Mornington Peninsula Shire’s Soundshell are encouraged to include these items in the budget submitted as part of this application.

Eligibility:

  • Previous applicants can apply but should show how they will become self-funded
  • Submission of an Event Opportunity Form (EOF) and other supporting documentation required. Planning an Event – Mornington Peninsula Shire (mornpen.vic.gov.au)
  • Applications must support planned event activity that is open and advertised to the general public including, but not limited to, festivals, concerts, community and cultural gatherings.
  • Events may be free to attend or ticketed.
  • The applicant must hold a minimum of $20 million public liability insurance relevant to their event application.

Creative Grant

Purpose: To build creativity, cultural capacity and vitality in our communities

Open: 13 July 2023 to 4 June 2024 unless funds are exhausted earlier|

Value: Eligible applicants may seek up to $10,000

Eligibility: Eligible organisations include, Incorporated Associations, Not For Profits (NFP), Registered Charities, unincorporated community groups (with an auspice arrangement), commercial businesses, Sole Traders.

Heritage Grant

Purpose: To preserve and restore places listed in the Heritage Overlay in the Mornington Peninsula Planning Scheme

Open: 13 July 2023 to 5 March 2024 unless funds have been exhausted earlier

Value: Eligible applicants may seek up to up to $5,000

Eligibility: The place must be listed in the schedule to the Heritage Overlay of the Mornington Peninsula Planning Scheme, and the applicant must have permission from the owner of the place to apply for the grant.

Mornington Peninsula Shire is providing information sessions regarding our Community Investment Funding on Grants and Sponsorships available this financial year 2023-24. Come along to one of our sessions to find out all necessary information on funding available and assistance with the application process.

Attend a Grant Writing Workshop (2.5 hours)
